Phil and I always take cooking classes when we travel. We actually gave up trying to buy souvenirs for family and friends, and realized the best gift to share culturally is the gift of food.
Cooking with family, friends, and my most favorite, strangers is something I feel connects everyone across the globe. We all love to eat and there is a reason they say the kitchen is the heart of the home.
One cooking class Phil and I took was a Paella cooking class in Barcelona with a man named Miguel, who we didn’t know when we booked it would become a great friend, even from far away. THAT is the reason we take the class, you get to know your hosts, where they live, and the way they live.
We decided to offer that in Pittsburgh, open our doors and invite folks in to cook with us, share their stories, laugh, and enjoy life the way it was meant to be enjoyed, while eating LMAO!
